PROJECTS

PROJECT ON ENCRYPTION

Objectives of the project :

a) Broad (Long Term):

To investigate and computerize methods available in the Indian Shastras for message encryption and message deciphering.

b)  Immediate (Short Term):

To develop Algorithm 3 for cryptography system based on matrices with messages.

Brief outline of the project :  Encryption

Encryption and decryption of messages in external and internal security-related operations are a basic necessity for a nation. with the advent of the internet, e-mail and the worldwide web, transmission and reception of messages has become very easy. However, this medium is also open and therefore insecure. Snooping on the net and intercepting messages meant for others is easy and widespread. Therefore encryption of messages so that only the intended recipient can decrypt and read the message is necessary for all confidential messages.

Many encryption/decryption methods and schemes are both commercially and freely available. However, most of them require licensing from a patent-owner or authority. Most of these are U.S. based and /or owned. Also, there are counter-methods and  concomitant software to crack these encryption schemes, using more computing horsepower, or by other algorithms. They might be owned and controlled by institutions not under the control if India’s National Security apparatus.

Therefore we need to develop and algorithm for our own encryption/decryption systems, owned and controlled by our National Security authorities and institutions.

We propose  and describe one such system, inspired by ancient Hindu/Buddhist/Jaina works in Sanskrit and Kannada. It is a based on a matrix of a desired size in which one (or more) messages are hidden.

Advantages of this project

  • Major breakthrough – Developing a new Cryptographic Paradigm
  • Bridging the gap between the Traditional Indian Sciences and Modern Sciences research. Of the hour for progress in this field. It will have a significant impact in traditional sciences research.
  • Facilitate a deeper understanding of Sanskrit texts which would be useful in solving many further problems of Codification.
  • Development of Encryption technologies for all Indian languages as most of the Indian languages are influenced by the structure and grammar of Sanskrit.
  • Promotion of the country’s technology.
  • Making India the focal point of research into computational linguistics and codification.
  • The linguistic state of the country will be integrated under one platform, VIZ. science and a common language-Sanskrit.
  • Enhance the value of heritage and culture of the ancient Indian language, Sanskrit.A shining example of another nation achieving this is Israel, which revived the ancient Hebrew language.
  • Save the country the expenses of importing unsuitable Encryption system based on foreign roots of thought, in future. Unnecessary overheads due to the Indian languages requirement will also be
In recent times, communication and security issues have become very important in the world. The more a country/province is technologically advance, the more it is considered powerful. Secure communication plays THE ROLE in determining the results of many a battle, war etc. be it in the field of economics, warfare or any other field. The two keys to success are that the communication should be unambiguous (to the intended recipient) and undecipherable (to an unauthorized party). This means that messages that are part of the communication have to encrypted, so that they could be known only to those who are supposed to know them. To do this, I. e. to find methods of encryption that no one can decrypt unless given the key by the person himself who has done the encryption, has been the challenge of many an intellectual. Innumerable formulae have been thought and rethought to meet this challenge. However, only a few have met with lasting and success.

Computational rendering of the Brahma –Sutra Bhashya

Brief out line or the project
This is a project of computational rendering of the Brahma –Sutra Bhayal. Using modern software note such as multimedia etc.  This reverse a thorough study of the Brahma Sutras with various bhashyas of different a carry as of reformatic  sastric idea to adapt them to the computers using three methods sutras  can be taught in a shorter  span of time to the students who hardly get sufficient time a learn the sastras in a traditional way.

Objectives.

To develop a multimedia presentation for teaching the bhashyas commentaries of Brahma sutras, which forms one of the Six system of Indian philosophy viz Uttara Mimamsa, initially this will be done for three bhashyas of Shankara, Ramanuja  & Madhva.

  1. To prepare software for teaching the other Bhashya namely Nimbanka and   Vallabla etc.
  2. To develop multimedia package for teaching the Bhaelyal of the Brahmaeetra  which reform the major pent one of the six system of Indian philosophy initially there will be done for the of bhasyas  of Shankara and Ramanuja and Madhva
